Retiring AGTs

I counted head's in the AGT display Tracy took a picture of, and there are 21 of them. So 3 dolls are being retired. I called AGPNY and a PS told me the two gray-eyed dolls are being discontinued. She said that's it, but obviously it's not. So I used Tracy's picture and Sandra's pictures and tried counting colored heads, keeping the gray-eyed info in mind. I came up with one dark-haired doll missing. I can't tell for sure since it's hard to see eye color in the pictures, but I think it is indeed the green-eyed one. Someone predicted this, can't remember who. So, in conclusion, my tentative statement is that AGT 20 (light skin, blond hair, gray eyes), AGT 9 (light skin, light brown hair, gray eyes), and AGT 10 (light skin, dark brown hair, green eyes) are retiring. I plan to call my new AGPC PS (only she doesn't know she's mine yet [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) tomorrow and find out for sure.

I think the AGOT with dark hair and green eyes is being retired. She hasn't been on the website for awhile now. Too bad, she was adorable!

I compared the picture to the catalog and you're right 9, 10 and 20 are missing. #20 is also missing from Sandra's picture.

but aren't the new dolls #s 22-24? That would indicate that there are 24 AGT dolls all together wouldn't it? I'm [img]confused.gif[/img]

Maybe those three missing are going to be redone? that is also a possibilty!

My guess is that, even if they are retiring three, they would use new numbers for the new three. To do otherwise could cause confusion since they're known by their numbers. It would be better not to have a doll by a certain number than to have a customer order a doll from an old catalog and end up with the wrong doll.

I didn't notice that when I went to Chicago on Sunday. I thought I saw the gray eyed girls, but I was so busy adoring #23, that I might have missed it. I don't know, and I didn't have my camera, kinda last minute.

Well, that figures! First they get rid of the hazel-eyed doll, now they get rid of the only other doll that looks like me. (I have eyes that are sometimes hazel, sometimes green). Oh, well. I guess this is an excuse not to by an AGOT. Thanks for letting us know

Well, I talked to my new PS. Unfortunately they had misplaced the list of retired dolls, but I was put on hold a couple times and I think everyone in the room was trying to remember together which ones it was. So, she told me 9, 10, and one other. She said there was one dark brown, one light brown, and one blonde. So I'm going with the dolls in my original post because both descriptions from the two PSs I talked to match. Also, AGPC no longer has the retired dolls, they have been shipped to the catalog. I'll be talking to the catalog on the 21st.

Which did you order? And did they say the three we already know about are the replacements or is it possible there will be even more new AGTs?

One of the dolls has been on my wishlist and I would really hate to not get her, but I really shouldn't spend that much money right now. But if she definitely won't be around...
